The City Budgeting Manual for FY 2018 is completed and you may access the manual by clicking the Download File (PDF) link at the bottom of this blog post.
One paper copy of the manual will be mailed to each city next week.
The manual includes chapters on the basics of city budgeting, state laws governing the budget process, revenue sources, as well as a budget calendar for FY 2018, a list of city levy rates, and revenue history and projections for major state shared revenues.
It’s also worth noting that the first deadline in the budget process, the written notice to the county clerk of the date, time and location of the city budget hearing, is coming up on Friday, April 28, 2017.
For those who may want more training on budgeting, AIC will be covering these topics in depth at our regional Spring District Workshops, which will be held in six locations around the state over the next two weeks. You can find out more information and register through the AIC website.
The Idaho Tax Commission also has regional budget and levy training workshops in Coeur d’Alene (May 2), Moscow (May 3), Nampa (May 18), Idaho Falls (May 22), Pocatello (May 23) and Twin Falls (May 25).
