Check out noteworthy things done and honors received by cities around Idaho as they work to create quality cities.
The Jerome Police Department, Jerome County Sheriff’s Office, and other organizations in the Jerome and Twin Falls area sponsored the 3rd Annual No Shave November event in Twin Falls. Police Officers, Deputies, and other participants within the organizations donated money to support the Mountain States Tumor Institute (MSTI) Emergency Fund. Participants in the event grow their beards for the entire month of November and ask for sponsors to support them throughout the month. The event raised close to $5,000 for the MSTI Emergency Fund.
The 9th Annual Idaho Pond Hockey Classic will take place January 16-17, 2016, at the Christina Potters Outdoor Ice Rink at Atkinson Park in Ketchum.
The City of Ketchum joined Snowriders International’s campaign to convince international leaders to reduce climate-crisis causing pollutants worldwide, thus protecting future snow packs.
The City of Ketchum saved 1 million kilowatt hours and $50,000 in electricity costs as a result of conservation measures at the wastewater treatment plant over the past 18 months.
