Check out noteworthy things being done and honors received by people in Idaho cities around the state.
Josh Tilley was appointed to the Orofino City Council, replacing Jill Woolsey, who recently moved to Oregon.
Robert Baugh has been hired as part of the Orofino Planning and Zoning Department.
Ponderay Police Chief Mike Hutter is retiring at the end of May for one week. Then he will be on patrol part-time for the Sandpoint Police Department. Detective Jimmy Cornelius will be appointed as the interim chief for the City of Ponderay.
Preston Councilmember Travis Kunz resigned for personal reasons after serving on the Council for six-and-a-half years.
Preston Mayor Mark Beckstead appointed Allyson Wadsworth to the City Council.
AJ Schroeder has been hired as a new member of the Twin Falls Street Department.
Cynthia Torrez has been hired as part of the Twin Falls Utility Services Department.
Anthony Summers and Salko Lilic have joined the Twin Falls Police Department as Police Officers.
Staff Sergeant Dennis Pulliln retired from the Twin Falls Police Department after 27 years of service.
Twin Falls Police Officers Justin Hendrickson and Dusty Solomon were promoted to Patrol Sergeants.
POST Certifications were awarded to several members of the Twin Falls Police Department—Officers Matthew Guzman and Tyler Smotherman their POST Basic Certification, Officers Kyle Skuza and Ben Hammer their POST Intermediate Certification, and Staff Sergeant Chuck Garner his POST Advanced Certification.
Josh Roberts resigned from the Weston City Council as he and his family are moving outside the city limits.
Greg Garner was appointed as a new Councilmember on the Weston City Council.
