AIC 2016 City Achievement Awards

Idaho city officials are creative, innovative, and solution oriented.  The City Achievement Awards recognize the work of cities around Idaho that have implemented pioneering approaches to improve quality of life, address community challenges, and enhance service delivery in cost-effective ways.  This year there were seven categories: Community Engagement, Economic & Community Development, Parks & Recreation, Public Safety, Public Works, Transportation, and Youth.

Community Engagement Category winners:

  • Idaho Falls for Celebrating Our Hydro Heritage

  • Blackfoot for ADA Community Resource Fair

Economic & Community Development Category winners:

  • Ketchum for Zoning Code Rewrite

  • Meridian for Meridian Heights Water & Sewer District Agreement

Parks & Recreation Category winners:

  • Roberts for Mustang Park

  • Aberdeen for Posse Park Playground

Public Safety Category winners:

  • Twin Falls for Embracing Technology in Public Safety—Body Worn Cameras

  • McCall for Firewise Project

  • Cottonwood for Alcohol & Drug Education & Enforcement Program

Public Works Category winners:

  • Moscow for City Hall Wisescape™

  • Sandpoint for Wastewater Treatment Plant Co-Generation Energy Project

Transportation Category winners:

  • Pocatello for South Valley Connector

  • Garden City for Boise River Bike & Pedestrian Bridge

Youth Category winners:

  •  Coeur d'Alene for Wastewater Tours for Water Awareness Month

  •  Boise for Energize our Neighborhoods Pre-K Project
