AIC Highlights Noteworthy People

Check out noteworthy things being done and honors received by people in Idaho cities around the state.

 

Captain Joe Cawley retired from the Idaho Falls Police Department on February 25, after 24 years with the department.

 

Officers Jamie Nunnelly and Tim Weaver have joined the Idaho Falls Police Department and were sworn in on February 21 by Mayor Rebecca Casper.

 

Pocatello Councilmember Jim Johnston read a proclamation establishing the month of March 2017 as National Nutrition Month® and encouraging all citizens to “become more concerned about their nutrition and the nutrition of others in the hope of achieving optimum health for both today and tomorrow.”

 

At a recent Pocatello City Council meeting, a proclamation was read by Councilmember Roger Bray proclaiming March 8, 2017, to be Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day and inviting “all citizens to recognize the contributions of Registered Dietitian Nutritionists and express appreciation for their commitment to promoting science-based nutrition.”

 

Twin Falls Firefighters Joe Renaldi and Kyle Eldridge received their Firefighter Level 1 certifications and Firefighter Dallas Williamson received his Firefighter Level 2 certification.

 

Officers Jerry Hutchison and Samir Smriko were appointed to the Twin Falls Police Department Strategic Traffic Accident Reduction (STAR) Team.

 

Twin Falls Mayor Shawn Bariger and Police Chief Craig Kingsbury presented Post Certificates to Officers Dzevad Mustafic, Anthony Rhoades, Brian Caldwell, Salko Lilic, and Nik Gumeson wit their Basic Certification; Matthew Gealta, Denis Suljevic, and Matthew Guzman with their Intermediate Certification; Aaron Nay, JP O’Donnell, and Jason Kelley with their Advanced Certification; Detective Brian Maughan and Officer JO O’Donnell with their Master Certification; and Lieutenant Terry Thueson with his Management Certification.

 

At the Twin Falls City Council meeting, Police Chief Craig Kingsbury introduced the newest Police Recruits—Justin Clark, Luis Gil, Bradley Wendlandt, Elisha Batteiger, and Powell Eaton. They were all sworn in by Mayor Shawn Bariger. Their newest canine, Frankie, was also introduced to the Council.
