AIC Highlights Noteworthy City Clips

Check out noteworthy things done and honors received by cities around Idaho as they work to create quality cities.


The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality awarded a $708,000 low-interest wastewater construction loan to the City of Basalt. The funds will be used to replace 5,500 feet of sewer trunk lines, make 40 point-repairs in the collection system, and improve a lift station.


The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality awarded a $11,248,570 low-interest wastewater construction loan to the City of Blackfoot. The funds will be used to repair and replace part of the collection system and make treatment system improvements that include aeration, clarification, digestion, disinfection, conveyance, preliminary treatment, and a new sewer intercept line.


The City of Boise and Idaho Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Jelli’s brand new office in Downtown Boise on June 7. The technology platform company for the audio advertising market will bring high-growth technology career opportunities to the local economy. Jelli is also collaborating with Boise State University on developing future potential internship opportunities for students.


The City of Moscow and the Moscow Arts Commission hosted Moscow Artwalk 2017 on June 16. The event featured 66 host locations and more than 125 artists from the beautiful Moscow community.


The City of Pocatello’s Marshall Public Library hosted its free babysitting clinic on June 10. The class is specifically designed for 11 to 14-year-olds and helps introduce caregivers to the basics of babysitting. Guest speakers covered topics including personal and kid safety (by the Pocatello Police Department), an introduction to CPR and first aid for babysitting emergencies, proper foods for children, understanding the ages and stages of child development, to name just a few. A snack was provided.


The City of Twin Falls’ annual Western Days Parade took place on Saturday, June 3.
