AIC Highlights Noteworthy People

Check out noteworthy things being done and honors received by people in Idaho cities around the state.

 

Virginia Parsons retired as the Clerk/Treasurer for the City of Arco on December 28, 2017.

 

Tara Ruth is the new Clerk/Treasurer for the City of Arco.

 

The Idaho Department of Lands (IDL) appointed Paul Buckland of Coeur d’Alene, Kelly Riggs of Glenns Ferry and Dr. Timothy Link of Moscow to the Idaho Forest Practices Act Advisory Committee.

 

The City of Meridian has hired Cameron Arial to serve as the City’s Director of Community Development. Arial’s background includes extensive financial, planning and land use, economic development and leadership experience.  He received a Master of Public Administration with a Certificate of Community and Regional Planning from Boise State University and has a Bachelor of Science in Law and Constitutional Studies from Utah State University.

 

Irving Middle School student Jordan Lee served as Mayor for a Day for the City of Pocatello on January 12. Lee joined Mayor Brian Blad to help manage the day-to-day operations of the City. Jordan met with several leaders of City departments and accompanied the Mayor to the Greater Pocatello Association of Realtors® luncheon. Lee was chosen by the school for his leadership and his ability to help as well as motivate other students. The city’s middle and high schools choose a new Mayor for a Day once a month. The school makes the selection and a different school is represented each month.

 

Chelsea J. Akers joined the Twin Falls Police Department as a Police Officer on December 11, 2017.

 

Officer Candace Comeau is the newest Electronic Control Weapon (ECW) Instructor for the Twin Falls Police Department.
