Check out noteworthy things done and honors received by cities around Idaho as they work to create quality cities.

In December, the U.S. Census Bureau announced that Idaho is the No. 1 fastest-growing state in the country. Five Idaho cities made Top 10 fastest-growing metropolitan and micropolitan area lists released by the Census Bureau in March. Coeur d’Alene is No. 5 and Boise is No. 7 fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country in terms of percentage growth. Among micropolitan areas, urban clusters of less than 50,000 people, Twin Falls ranked No. 5, Sandpoint ranked No. 7, and Mountain Home ranked No. 9. Twin Falls has grown enough that the federal Office of Management and Budget elevated the city to a metropolitan area in August.

The City of Meridian held its 4th annual Do The Right Day on April 5. This event was established to encourage everyone to do something kind for the person to their right—neighbors, family members, coworkers, or classmates. Residents are urged to put a smile on the face of someone else with a nice word, simple note, gift, or act of service. The success of the event over the past few years has been amazing with an overwhelming response from the community and beyond (reaching all the way to Texas).

If your city has done something noteworthy or received an honor and you would like it listed in City Clips, send the information to GayDawn by e-mail goyler@idahocities.org or fax 344-8677.
