Idaho Falls School District 91 was one of four recipients to receive an energy efficiency rebate check from Idaho Falls Power at the Celebrate our Hydro Power Heritage event on September 25.

The Meridian Police and Fire Departments opened their new Public Safety Training Center—the first of its kind to be built in the valley—giving public safety agencies across the area the ability to train locally instead of out of state. The new training center features four classrooms, a defensive tactics mat room, simulators to create real situations for training, a K-9 agility course and it houses a mobile command post.

The new Pocatello Animal Shelter has been awarded a $40,000 grant from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). The money will be used to enlarge the kennels for small dogs, to construct another “cat bowl” holding area, and to purchase $5,000 worth of supplies.
