AIC Highlights Noteworthy City Clips

Check out noteworthy things done and honors received by cities around Idaho as they work to create quality cities.


The City of Idaho Falls and the Idaho Falls Fire Department hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on January 8 to signify the construction of Fire Station 1, the new downtown fire station in Idaho Falls. Site plans and design boards were available for review, and representatives from the City, the architects and the construction company were available for interviews. Light refreshments were served, and the Idaho Falls Fire Department Pipes & Drums provided entertainment.


The Idaho Falls Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Secondary Improvement project was recently awarded a 1st place designation at the 2015 Engineering Excellence Awards Competition through the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Idaho.


During 2015, the Jerome School District received a $1,000 grant from Statewide Education Philanthropic Gift Fund and Idaho Community Foundation’s Board of Directors to purchase supplies for The Leader in Me program at Jefferson Elementary School; a $1,500 grant from the Statewide Education Philanthropic Gift Fund, approved by the Idaho Community Foundation’s Board of Directors, to purchase and install two classroom projectors in the intervention classrooms at Summit Elementary School; awarded for the 2015-2016 American Heart Association-Ross CPR in Schools High School Grant Program, two free CPR in Schools Training KitsTM and assistance from the American Heart Association (AHA) for training high school students in CPR; and a College Access Challenge Grant from the Idaho State Board of Education to form a Magic Valley Education Network focused on increasing college to on rates.


The City of Moscow is inviting public input as they begin the design process on two undeveloped City Parks—Lola Clyde Park and Milton Arthur Park—through a series of interactive planning workshops and presentations.
