Check out noteworthy things done and honors received by cities around Idaho as they work to create quality cities.

The Idaho Falls Zoo will be holding its annual Community-wide Zoo Clean-up Day on April 2. On this day, service groups and individual volunteers from throughout the community gather to help prepare for the season opening of the Zoo.

The City of Meridian will be holding a Public Safety Academy April 21 to June 23. Citizens participating in the event will learn all about the City’s Fire and Police Departments first hand.

The Meridian Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) Executive Team had the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C., for the National League of Cities Conference, where they learned invaluable ways to effect change and involve youth in government. They also gained insight into how to address issues with their peers such as bullying, prescription drug use and other dangers facing teens.

Preston’s city clean-up will take place in April.

The City of Twin Falls and the Twin Falls Optimist Club hosted the annual Community Easter Egg Hunt on March 26. Over 4,000 candy filled plastic eggs were hidden for the hunt.
