Applications are available online

The start of the new fiscal year means Application Season at LHTAC.

Rural, Bridge and the Local Rural Highway Investment Program (LRHIP)applications will be mailed* out to eligible jurisdictions and are also available online at

  • Under Programs you can click on Federal-aid(for Rural and Bridge), or LRHIP for information on each program's background, eligibility requirements, deadlines and the downloadable application.

New crash data has been received and we expect the Local Highway Safety Improvement Program (LHSIP) application to be posted online in the next few weeks.

*In an effort to reduce paper waste and postage this will be the last year we send hard copies of applications in the mail. Notifications will still be sent both electronically and through USPS but the actual applications will not be printed and mailed to each jurisdiction. If a jurisdiction should need a printed copy, LHTAC would be happy to mail a copy upon request.

LHTAC Workshops:

This fall LHTAC staff will travel to11 locations around the state and present a half-day workshop.

Hear a firsthand update from LHTAC on pertinent information regarding the local transportation community. We will be discussing funding applications (Rural, Urban, Bridge, LRHIP, and LHSIP), 129,000 Pound Truck Routes, new reporting methods for Highway Distribution Account (HDA) funds, updates on the Transportation Alternative Program (TAP), and Federal Lands Access Program (FLAP).

These FREE workshops are open to everyone: sponsors, clerks, consultants, local elected officials etc.

An RSVP is encouraged but not required. By sending us an RSVP, it will help us plan for seating and refreshments.

More information on workshops can be found at the following link:

Feel free to forward this information on to your coworkers and staff.
