AIC Highlights Noteworthy People

Check out noteworthy things being done and honors received by people in Idaho cities around the state.


Leslie Freeman will work as an independent contractor to pursue grants on behalf of the City of Cascade, Cascade Medical Center and Cascade Schools, which will split the cost of her one-year contract.


Ketchum Public Works Director/City Engineer Robyn Mattison was recognized as one of 14 outstanding young professionals across the country recently by the industry publication Water and Wastewater Digest.


Tom Bowman, volunteer firefighter, has been honored as Ketchum’s Firefighter of the Year. Aside from a two-year break and an eight-year stint as a County Commissioner, Bowman has served as a volunteer member of the Fire Department since 1984. He is both a firefighter and engineer.


Matthew (Mattie) Mead has been appointed to the Ketchum Planning & Zoning Commission for a three-year term.


Water/Ways, a traveling Smithsonian exhibit about the relationship between people and water, arrived at Third Street Gallery in Moscow City Hall on December 9. As part of the exhibit, the Latah County Historical Society and the City of Moscow are co-hosting a series of evening lectures. The first lecture in the series was led by Steve Robischon, director of the Palouse Basin Aquifer Committee, on December 9. On January 5, 2017, Northwest historian Adam Sowards will continue the lecture series, speaking on Idaho’s Water at Work and for Play. The final lecture in the series will be held on January 19, 2017, with Lucii Simpson, Nimiipuu Protecting the Environment board member, speaking on Water and the Nez Perce, Yesterday and Today.


Laci Hanson has been appointed to St. Maries’ Planning and Zoning Committee.
