Truck Route Designation Considerations for Local Government Workshop

Local participants are encouraged to attend in person at ITD's District 3 office.  Participants outside of the Treasure Valley area can attend as a webinar.

Workshop Goals:

  • Discuss the importance of truck mobility and access to the economic vitality of the State and to local governments.
  • Roadway safety for all highway system users is non-negotiable; this will be an underlying principle driving Workshop discussions.
  • Tradeoffs are always at play when considering truck routes; safety is included as a tradeoff.

  • Currently Designated Truck Route Networks
  • Locating Truck Trip Generators
  • Current Truck Travel Patterns by Truck Type
  • Local Roadway Network Ability to Accommodate Truck Trips
  • Consideration of Interactions with Other Land Uses
  • Workshop Summary and Wrap Up

Intended Audience:

The focus audience for this workshop is roadway supervisors, foreman, and employees.
