AIC Highlights Noteworthy People

Check out noteworthy things being done and honors received by people in Idaho cities around the state.


Recently, at the Select USA Conference in Washington, D.C., Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter announced that Netherlands-based NewCold is investing $90 million to build a 180,000-square-foot sub-zero cold storage warehouse in Burley. The fully automated facility, one of the largest frozen storage facilities of its kind in the U.S., will serve frozen food producers throughout the area and is slated to open in the spring of 2019.


Caldwell Fire Chief Mark Wendelsdorf announced the promotion of Firefighters Jacob Ives and Kolby Kerbs to Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator.


On July 11 the Pocatello Police Department honored two officers and a local business with awards. Officer Ken McClure was recognized for going “Above the Call” and Officer Aaron Bergman received a meritorious service award. MAAG Prescription Center & Medical Supply was recognized for securing a grant that purchased Narcan for the Department.


At a recent Pocatello City Council Meeting, Benjamin West was appointed as the new Pocatello Regional Airport Manager.


Billie McMahon is the new City Clerk in the City of Tetonia, She replaces Jean Hansen, who recently retired.


Weiser Mayor Diana Thomas was recently elected as LHTAC’s first female Council chair, effective July 1. Thomas has served on the LHTAC Council since September of 2014.
