AIC Highlights Noteworthy People

Check out noteworthy things being done and honors received by people in Idaho cities around the state.

 

City of Idaho Falls Parks & Recreation Director Greg A. Weitzel has announced he will be leaving the city and has accepted a position as the head of Parks and Recreation in Las Vegas, Nevada. His last day with the City of Idaho Falls will be June 3.

 

Idaho Falls Fire Department Deputy Chief of Administration Duane Nelson was appointed by Mayor Rebecca Casper to serve as the department’s next chief.

 

The City of Dalton Gardens has a new mayor. Jeffrey Fletcher, a Coeur d’Alene Fire Department station captain who doubles as a paramedic, was chosen by council members for the position.

 

A City of Pocatello Engineer has taken home a top honor from the American Public Works Association (APWA) Rocky Mountain Chapter.  Public Works Development Engineer Merril Quayle was recognized as the 2019 Public Works Leader of the Year. The award recognizes the “outstanding career service achievements of individual public works professionals and officials.”
