IdCMA

The purpose of the Idaho City Management Association’s (IdCMA), an affiliate of ICMA, is to increase the proficiency and effectiveness of Managers and Administrators of local government within the State of Idaho; to strengthen the quality of local government through professional management; to encourage and support the precepts of the Council/Manager plan; to maintain the high ethical standards of the profession of City Management; and provide opportunities to enhance the professional development of its members. 

 

IdCMA welcomes members from all Idaho cities acting in a managerial capacity for their community.  Each January in conjunction with the AIC Day at the Capitol event, IdCMA hosts training and meeting opportunities for managers, supervisors, etc. to promote staff development for Idaho cities.  In addition, the group meets briefly in June at the AIC Annual Conference as well.

IdCMA Senior Adviser Program

IdCMA adopted the Senior Adviser Program in partnership with ICMA.  The ICMA Senior Adviser program (formerly Range Rider Program) is a joint activity of ICMA and state sponsors established by the ICMA Executive Board in 1974 to make the counsel, experience, and support of respected, retired managers of the profession available to members.  Senior Advisers are unpaid volunteers who pursue other activities while in retirement and thus are not "full time."  Expenses are shared by ICMA and the sponsoring state organization.
